1. Introducción
Como sabemos, el capítulo 6 del Evangelio de Juan contiene una de las enseñanzas más importantes sobre el Cuerpo de Cristo. Nos lleva a otro nivel en nuestra fe. En este nuevo nivel, nos damos cuenta de que, a través de la Sagrada Comunión, el Cuerpo de Cristo se convierte en nuestro Cuerpo. ¡Es realmente una experiencia mística!
2. Palabras clave
El que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre, tiene vida eterna y yo lo resucitaré el último día. Mi carne es verdadera comida y mi sangre es verdadera bebida.
Cuando recibimos la Sagrada Comunión escuchamos: “El Cuerpo de Cristo”, que expresa muy bien la realidad. Sin embargo, en el Evangelio de Juan de hoy, el evangelista usa otra palabra griega más común: “sarx”, que significa literalmente “carne”. Entonces, cuando nos acercamos a la Sagrada Comunión y escuchamos las palabras: “El Cuerpo de Cristo”, significa: “La Carne de Cristo”.
El que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre, permanece en mí y yo en él.
Hay una segunda palabra que fortalece, aún más, el significado de la palabra carne. Es la palabra “trogo”, que a menudo se traduce como “comer”. Sin embargo, “trogo” significa literalmente ” mordisquear “, “masticar comida”, “engullir” y “comer ruidosamente y con deleite”. El verbo que significa simplemente “comer” es ἐσθίω; pero el evangelista usa alternativamente ESTHIO – “comer” y – TROGO – “masticar”.
3. Hoy
Nosotros, los católicos, vamos a la iglesia no sólo para escuchar buenos sermones. No vamos a la Iglesia para escuchar la sabiduría de alguien; vamos al encuentro de Jesucristo en la Sagrada Eucaristía. Somos las personas más felices del mundo.
Jesús, ¡Gracias por estar con nosotros en la Sagrada Eucaristía, aquí y en las iglesias de todo el mundo!
