¿Qué significa que Jesús es la puerta?

1. introducción
Hay muchos títulos de Jesús. Dice de sí mismo que él es el camino, la verdad, la vida, el buen pastor. Pero lo que es más difícil de entender para nosotros es que Jesús es la puerta. Debemos mirar este término en la perspectiva del contexto cultural del tiempo de Jesús.

Jesús dijo: “ Yo soy la puerta; quien entre por mí se salvará.”
Como en la antigüedad, como hoy, puerta está asociado con muchas situaciones y funciones diferentes. En los días de Jesús, cada ciudad tenía puertas. Su función principal era crear la posibilidad de paso a la ciudad y garantizar la seguridad. Las antiguas puertas también eran lugares de reunión, centros de cultura y comercio. Los juicios se llevaron a cabo en las puertas, ejemplos de los cuales se pueden encontrar en los libros del Antiguo Testamento. Finalmente, las puertas tenían un significado religioso: fue allí donde comenzaron algunas celebraciones.
¿Qué significa en el contexto del Evangelio de hoy? Jesús es la puerta, es decir, la respuesta a todas las necesidades humanas: seguridad, relaciones con los demás, necesidades materiales y espirituales. Jesús no solo da su vida por las ovejas (como el buen pastor), sino que es nuestro paso a la vida. En Él está nuestra salvación.
