1. Introducción
Jesús anunció que después de su partida Dios el Padre enviaría al Paráclito, el Espíritu Santo. Es un término con muchos significados. Muestra el gran amor de Dios por nosotros.
2. Palabras clave
Si me aman, cumplirán mis mandamientos; yo le rogaré al Padre y él les dará otro Paráclito para que esté siempre con ustedes, el Espíritu de la verdad.
La palabra griega “parakletos” (παρακλητος) es una palabra utilizada en el antiguo poder judicial para una persona que asiste al acusado. Su tarea era prestar asistencia jurídica. El Paráclito era, por lo tanto, un defensor, un abogado, es decir, un intercesor, un ayudante. En la palabra Paráclito hay otro significado muy importante: el consolador.
El Paráclito, entonces, es el Espíritu Santo. Él nos sostiene en el camino de la fe. Él nos justifica, mientras que Satanás nos acusa. Finalmente, el Espíritu Santo nos consuela y no nos permite ceder a la desesperación o al desaliento. Tantos significados ocultos en la palabra Paráclito reflejan bien el amor de Dios por el hombre.
El que acepta mis mandamientos y los cumple, ése me ama. Al que me ama a mí, lo amará mi Padre, yo también lo amaré y me manifestaré a él.
Jesús no habla de cosas abstractas, pero es muy concreto. Si nos preguntamos si amamos a Dios, debemos preguntarnos si guardamos Sus mandamientos. Guardar los mandamientos de Dios es prueba de amor por Dios.

A veces, en las clases de religión, los niños escriben mandamientos en sus corazones. Dios nos dio estos mandamientos porque nos ama. ¿Cómo respondo al amor de Dios en la vida cotidiana? ¿Es mi amor por Dios y las personas abstracto o se expresa en términos concretos?
