– I protected a woman from abortion – confesses the Polish world champion and Olympic medalist in windsurfing Zofia Klepacka. In an interview with Radio Warszawa, the player emphasizes the Christian and patriotic values that are close to her.
Zofia Klepacka has been at the forefront of the Olympic RS: X class for years. She won the championship and second place in the world championship, and at the 2012 Olympics in London she won a bronze medal. She has also won the titles of European champion and vice-champion.
The Polish windsurfing star publicly admits to the values that can be summarized by the motto of the Polish Army – God, Honor, Fatherland. She is also known for her evangelic, patriotic and pro-life activities. For this reason, she becomes the target of attacks by pro-abortion groups.
Zofia Klepacka is against abortion because – as she points out – in this way she is on the side of the weaker, those who cannot defend themselves. On Radio Warszawa she also presented her testimony related to the defense of the conceived life.
I managed to prevent a woman from having an abortion. She wrote to me and it turned out that she was in an uninteresting situation. I am happy because with my testimony I convinced this woman not to abort the child. If we talk about it out loud, others will also follow our example - emphasized the Polish windsurfing champion.
In an interview with the diocesan broadcasting station, Zofia Klepacka, privately native from Warsaw and mother of two children, also spoke about the importance of motherhood and combining the role of a parent with a sports career. During the protests after the ruling of the Constitutional Tribunal banning eugenic abortion, the Polish champion became involved in the defense of the attacked churches and monuments.
We can see the direction in which today's world is heading. In some countries, euthanasia and abortion are commonplace. I hope that Poland will be an example for Europe and a bulwark of Christianity, a bastion of normality and normal values. Hence my defense of the churches that were attacked, of monuments commemorating our national heroes who shed their blood for our living in a free, democratic sovereign state - said the windsurfer.
In recent days, Zofia Klepacka won the bronze medal of the European Championships in Portugal. After returning to Poland, the trophy was auctioned. The proceeds from the auction – 10,000 zlotys – will be allocated to help and treatment for Mrs Aleksandra, a Polish woman living in Lviv.
