“I also extend my thoughts to the ‘Parade of the Three Kings’ taking place in so many towns and villages in Poland today,” Pope Francis said after the Angelus prayer on the Feast of the Epiphany. “Let the Star lead us!” – under this motto, the 15th Three Kings Parade was held in more than 750 cities in Poland and around the world, with a record number of participants of about 1.5 million. It is the biggest street nativity play in the world.

“Hago extensivo mi pensamiento a la ‘Procesión de los Reyes Magos’ que tiene lugar hoy en tantas ciudades y pueblos de Polonia” – dijo el Papa Francisco tras rezar el Ángelus en la fiesta de la Epifanía. “Que nos guíe la estrella” – bajo este lema, la 15 Procesión de los Reyes Magos se celebró en más de 750 ciudades de Polonia y de todo el mundo, con una cifra récord de participantes de alrededor de 1,5 millones. “Discovering God in the everyday and ordinary is greater than discovering America; blessed is he who is able to seek and ask,” said Auxiliary Bishop of the Warsaw Archdiocese, Michal Janocha, who spoke at the Warsaw parade.

Bishop Janocha also addressed in Ukrainian the numerous Ukrainian mothers with their children gathered in Warsaw. “We wish you and your Homeland a peace stronger than war. We wish you and your Homeland hope that is stronger than death. Glory to Ukraine,” said the bishop. This year in Warsaw, carols were sung in Polish and Ukrainian. Refreshments included the distribution of Ukrainian Christmas Eve dishes.

The presidential couple greeted the participants of the parades in Poland and abroad in a special letter. Polish President Andrzej Duda stressed that the Parades contribute to the revival and popularization of Polish nativity and carol traditions in the 21st Century, thus strengthening identity and family ties by boldly manifesting the Christian faith on the streets and squares of Polish cities.

This year’s novelty was the opportunity to submit letters written by children to the infant Jesus in the Bethlehem stable. On February 2, a Mass will be celebrated in the intentions contained in these letters.

The Three Kings Parade counts among the largest street nativity plays all over the world. In 2022, it was attended by some 1.2 million participants in 668 cities in Poland and on four continents. Colorful processions passed through the streets in Ecuador, the United States, Rwanda, Cameroon, Zambia, and Chad, among others.

L’evento principale si è svolto a Varsavia. Secondo gli organizzatori vi hanno preso parte circa 80.000 persone.

“Scoprire Dio nel quotidiano e nell’ordinario è più grande che scoprire l’America; beato chi sa cercare e domandare” – ha dichiarato il vescovo ausiliare dell’Arcidiocesi di Varsavia Michał Janocha, nel suo intervento durante la processione di Varsavia.

Il Vescovo Janocha si è anche rivolto in ucraino alle numerose mamme ucraine con i loro bambini radunate a Varsavia. “Auguriamo a voi e alla vostra Patria la pace più potente della guerra. Auguriamo a voi e alla vostra Patria la speranza che è più forte della morte. Gloria all’Ucraina” – ha affermato l’ecclesiastico. Quest’anno sono stati cantati canti natalizi in polacco e in ucraino. Il rinfresco prevedeva la distribuzione di piatti ucraini della vigilia di Natale.

La coppia presidenziale ha rivolto parole di saluto ai partecipanti ai Cortei in Polonia e all’estero. In una lettera speciale, il Presidente Duda ha sottolineato che i Cortei contribuiscono alla rinascita e alla diffusione delle tradizioni del presepe di strada polacco e dei canti natalizi nel XXI secolo, rafforzando così l’identità e i legami familiari attraverso una manifestazione coraggiosa della fede cristiana nelle strade e nelle piazze delle città polacche.

Una novità di quest’anno è stata la possibilità di deporre nella stalla di Betlemme le lettere scritte dai bambini a Gesù Bambino. Il 2 febbraio sarà celebrata una Messa per le intenzioni contenute in queste lettere.

La Processione dei Tre Re Magi è ritenuta attualmente tra le più grandi rappresentazioni nel mondo del Natale per le strade. Nel 2022 vi avevano preso parte circa 1,2 milioni di partecipati in 668 città della Polonia e nei 4 continenti. Una de las novedades de este año fue la posibilidad de enviar cartas escritas por los niños al Niño Jesús en el establo de Belén. El 2 de febrero se celebrará una misa por las intenciones contenidas en estas cartas.

La Procesión de los Reyes Magos es actualmente una de las mayores representaciones mundial de la Navidad en las calles. En 2022, hubo aproximadamente 1,2 millones de participantes en 668 ciudades de Polonia y en 4 continentes. Coloridas procesiones recorrieron las calles de Ecuador, Estados Unidos, Ruanda, Camerún, Zambia y Chad, entre otros países.

Головна процесія відбулася у Варшаві. За даними організаторів, у ній взяло участь близько 80 тисяч осіб.

«Відкриття Бога в повсякденному та звичайному житті є більшим, ніж відкриття Америки; блаженний, хто може шукати і питати», – сказав єпископ-помічник Варшавської архидієцезії Міхал Яноха, під час виступу на варшавської процесії.

Єпископ Яноха також звернувся українською мовою до численних українських матерів із дітьми, які зібралися у Варшаві. «Бажаємо вам та вашій Батьківщині миру, сильнішого за війну. Бажаємо вам і вашій Батьківщині надії, сильнішої за смерть. Слава Україні», – сказав священнослужитель. Цього року у Варшаві колядували польською та українською мовами. У рамках частування роздавали українські святвечірні страви.

Президентське подружжя звернулося з привітанням до учасників процесій у Польщі та за кордоном. У спеціальному листі Президент Дуда наголосив, що Процесії сприяють відродженню та популяризації традицій польських вертепів і колядок у XXI столітті, а отже зміцнюють ідентичність і родинні зв’язки через сміливе проявлення християнської віри на вулицях і площах польських міст.

Цьогорічною новинкою стала можливість залишати листи, написані дітьми до Немовляти Ісуса у віфлеємській стайні. 2 лютого буде відслужена Меса в інтенціях, викладених у цих листах.

Процесія Трьох Королів на даний момент є одним із найбільших вуличних вертепів у світі. У 2022 році в ній взяли участь близько 1,2 мільйона учасників у 668 містах Польщі та на 4 континентах. Барвисті процесії проходили вулицями, зокрема в Еквадорі, США, Руанді, Камеруні, Замбії та Чаді.
